Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join the culinary team at our client's nursing facility. The Cook will play a crucial role in preparing and serving appetizing, well-balanced meals to our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented with attention to taste, texture, and visual appeal.
Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of our residents.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas.
Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure that food is stored, handled, and served safely.
Assist in food inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
Adapt recipes and portion sizes to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain compliance with state and local health department requirements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare or senior living setting is preferred.
Knowledge of safe food handling practices and dietary guidelines.
Culinary training or certification is a plus.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
