Job Description

Our client, a prestigious law firm known for its integrity and innovation, is seeking an eDiscovery Project Manager to join their Global Operations Team. The Project Manager will oversee the eDiscovery process for various litigation matters, collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and eDiscovery vendors across offices. Responsibilities include developing project plans, leveraging technology for efficiency, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with eDiscovery best practices. The ideal candidate will have several years of eDiscovery experience, be Relativity Certified, and possess strong project management and communication skills. Candidates residing in San Francisco, Redwood City, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, or Washington, D.C. will be required to be in the office three days a week. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with case teams to assess project needs and create a detailed eDiscovery plan
  • Track project progress, updating plans to ensure milestones are met
  • Identify risks to project success and implement mitigation strategies
  • Leverage technology to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain project tracker, documenting all eDiscovery process steps
  • Use RelativityOne for data processing, analysis, threading, batching, review, and production
  • Provide guidance and training on eDiscovery software to case teams
  • Analyze and report on incoming data from clients and third parties
  • Ensure document review protocols align with eDiscovery best practices
  • Oversee document review progress, monitoring cost and quality
  • Assist in privilege log creation
  • Act as the primary liaison between case teams and eDiscovery vendors
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor project bids, guiding vendor selection
  • Lead initial matter kickoff calls and participate in all vendor meetings
  • Conduct quality control checks on vendor work, including searches and productions
  • Track eDiscovery spending and alert case teams to potential budget overages
  • Escalate and address project issues to avoid delays
  • Assist with database decommissioning, ensuring adherence to the eDiscovery Playbook
  • Recommend updates to the eDiscovery Playbook
  • Stay updated on litigation support tools and industry standards
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Comprehensive understanding of the eDiscovery process
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification is highly preferred; Relativity Analytics Specialist also preferred
  • Brainspace Analyst Certification highly preferred, with additional Brainspace certifications beneficial
  • Familiarity with other eDiscovery applications, such as Nuix, Reveal, and DISCO
  • Advanced skills in database searches, data analytics, and technology-assisted review (TAR)
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Excel
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Several years of experience in eDiscovery, ideally in an Am Law 100 law firm
  • Proven experience working with eDiscovery vendors on pricing, budgets, and project management
  • Skilled in designing workflows for efficient ESI review
  • Proficient in processing, threading, reviewing, and producing data in RelativityOne
  • Experience managing large cases involving extensive document collections, reviews, and productions

  • Ability to understand both the strategic and substantive elements of litigation
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality service to clients
  • Quick to learn and adopt new technology
  • Adaptable to last-minute changes, tight timelines, and managing multiple collaborators
  • Strong planning, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
FLEXIBILITY
  • Willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Able to travel and spend extended periods in other locations as needed
Expected salary for this non-exempt role is up to $140,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
