Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate site-wide EHS programs, including hazardous waste, fall protection, air permitting, fire safety, and emergency response.
  • Investigate incidents and work-related injuries, using data to identify trends and reduce incidents.
  • Manage the Ergonomics Program, conducting evaluations and implementing injury prevention solutions.
  • Provide training on EHS programs such as IIPP, Hazard Communication, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Draft and ensure approval of required EHS procedures.
  • Lead hazardous waste and recycling programs, maintaining chemical inventory and promoting green disposal alternatives.
  • Chair the Safety Committee and ensure adherence to corporate EHS initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations through inspections and reporting.
  • Oversee the Bloodborne Pathogen Program and ensure training and vaccine coordination.
  • Stay updated on EHS regulations and ensure workplace safety.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or biotech/medical device environments with EHS responsibilities.
  • Experience in managing hazardous waste and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Air Quality, and Water Pollution regulations.

Skills & Certifications

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, email, and internet applications.

Eligibilities & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in safety or related discipline (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Familiarity with EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, CalEPA, RCRA, and others.
