General Manager (GM) - Multi-Concept Space

Our Company: Join our management team at our new space at Helms Bakery, owned and operated by Michelin starred Chef Sang Yoon. The multi-concept retail space will include a bakery, coffee shop, deli and grab & go. We will also feature a separate restaurant and bar.

Who You Are: We’re looking for an experienced, service-driven General Manager with a passion for hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. This role requires a seasoned leader capable of overseeing a large team, maintaining our high standards, and fostering a welcoming and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Lead day-to-day operations in line with Helms Bakery’s hospitality standards.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Ownership, and other key stakeholders on operational strategies, employee relations, training, and onboarding.
  • Ensure facilities are well-maintained and compliant with all health and safety standards.

Inventory and Product Management:

  • Build and manage vendor relationships to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Lead inventory control, storage, rotation, and merchandising efforts to drive sales.
  • Ensure visually appealing displays and maintain product availability throughout the day.

Financial Management:

  • Establish and track sales and labor budgets, monitoring daily performance to achieve financial goals.
  • Oversee cash management, review pricing, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire and cultivate a high-performing team environment based on respect, collaboration, and morale.
  • Provide regular training, guidance, and performance feedback to staff.
  • Ensure all team members are trained and compliant with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of General Manager experience in the food service and hospitality industry, with experience in multi-concept environments preferred.
  • Extensive retail and merchandising background, with proficiency in inventory and financial management.
  • Familiarity with P-Mix and P&L reporting, and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the Toast POS System and Resy.
  • Ability to lead by example, delegate effectively, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
