Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Deland, Florida is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
The position is entrusted with the maintenance, operation and management of a golf course. The position would entail a “hands-on” Superintendent who leads, teaches all employees by example. You will work to create an environment where staff is fully trained with each job, involved and enthusiastic, and an open line of communications to the staff. The position must be able to respond quickly to any situation that arises on the golf course.
Essential Job Functions:
• Planning, organizing, and directing maintenance personnel in all areas of work on the golf course.
• Overseeing the mechanic regarding the repair / maintenance of all equipment for the facility.
• Procuring and managing all supplies and materials that are used in the daily operation of the golf course.
• Protecting the company’s interest by an awareness of and compliance with all applicable regulations including course and company policies.
Requirements:
Certified and /or licensed for pesticide usage is required.
Must have at least two years Superintendent experience in golf course maintenance operations.
Extensive knowledge of both irrigation and chemical-related applications.
Ability to operate all turf equipment that is used on the golf course.
Must be certified and /or licensed for pesticide usage.
Knowledge of irrigation including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells and automatic controls / drainage.
Train staff on safe operation of golf course equipment and daily care of equipment.
Valid driver’s license.
A minimum of two years of experience in golf course management and turf cultural practices.
Compensation:
$70,000 – $75,000 per year.
