Position Summary:
The Psychology Department at Dominican University is accepting applications for a Lecturer position in psychology, area of specialization open , to teach foundational courses in psychology, including Introduction to Psychology and courses in their area of specialty. This is a full-time, in-person, appointment. Although Lecturers are not on a tenure-track, they do have a promotion path (Lecturer; Senior Lecturer; Distinguished Lecturer), can become eligible for multi-year contracts, and can (when qualified) be considered for conversion to a tenure-track appointment. Lecturers have a workload of 24 credit hours per academic year.
We are especially interested in candidates who can re-envision, organize, and standardize our Introduction to Psychology curriculum by working with the other faculty members in the department to continuously improve and assess an inclusive, inquiry-based curriculum for this course. Especially strong candidates would be those excited to contribute to other first- and second-year courses (e.g., Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Neuroscience, Multicultural Psychology). Successful candidates will be joining a supportive and collaborative department, with excellent opportunities for professional and career development, including a strong departmental interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
