Job Description

We’re currently hiring for a Maintenance Worker in Stockbridge, GA 32081 to support grounds and facility operations at a local cemetery and funeral home site. This is a temporary 4-month contract role , paying $15/hour , with full-time hours and the possibility of overtime. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and operating heavy machinery on-site. This is a non-driving position off-road only — duties include operating a mule, gator, dump truck , and backhoe experience is required .

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the overall appearance of cemetery grounds including grass cutting, trimming, and sod laying
• Clear debris and maintain walkways and drives
• Set up tents and seating for graveside services
• Assist with grave site preparation and interment support
• Operate backhoes and light-duty vehicles (mule/gator/dump truck) strictly on-site only
• Install and maintain grave markers, bronze memorials, and crypt faces
• Perform minor facility repairs and basic painting tasks
• Clean, maintain, and properly store equipment and vehicles
• Ensure all work follows OSHA safety standards and company policies

Requirements:

• Experience operating a backhoe is required
• Must be able to use hand tools and powered lawn equipment
• Ability to lift up to 150 lbs with equipment assistance, and push/pull up to 300 lbs
• Must work effectively in outdoor and seasonal weather conditions
• Must wear steel toe boots while on duty
• Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with team members and clients
• No road driving — all vehicle operation is limited to the job site
