Job Description and Duties

Help shape the circular economy and materials management policies of the future through sound research, innovative analyses and effective collaboration with stakeholders to enable CalRecycle's Policy Office to function as CalRecycle's policy analysis & development nexus, data gathering arm, and technical information clearinghouse.

The Policy Office needs a skilled analyst to serve as the Office's administrative lead. This position will coordinate with Office management and staff as it supports data-driven, science-based decision-making and policy development. This position will be responsible for overseeing the office budgetary planning and coordination, personnel actions, contract administation, and other administrative oversight roles. Be a part of expanding CalRecycle’s knowledge-base and help foster innovative policy development as we work on challenging environmental issues to help California move towards a circular economy.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense. Beginning July 1, 2025, employees are expected to work in the office at least 4 days per week.
