Job Description

Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join this gorgeous  Atlanta property!

Located in one of Atlanta's most prestigious neighborhoods, this 42-story tower has over 200 rooms (127 guest rooms plus residences ), over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and 3 food and beverage outlets.  This includes the 3-meal restaurant, bar, and in-room dining.

· Classification:  Full-Time

· Shift: Various - must have the flexibility to work hours to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation

In this role, you will report directly to the Banquet Sous Chef and Executive Chef.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in the culinary department, culinary degree or equivalent experience in hotel or restaurant
  • Good knowledge of Gastronomy and passion for cooking     
  • Ability to handle service, stay organized, and follow recipes
  • Ability to work a busy station, cooking in bulk with high quality
  • Quick learner with a desire to experience all the stations and cuisines.
  • Ability to work within the guidelines of the company’s safety program and transfer the knowledge to Team Members  
  • Quality driven with a passion for excellence
  • Approachable, open-minded and fair
  • High energy and team player

It would be advantageous to have the following:

  • Banquet Culinary experience
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic software
  • Knowledge of other cuisines is a plus
  • Experience in a luxury environment
  • ServSafe Certified

What will I be doing?

As Banquet Chef de Partie, you would be responsible for preparing, seasoning, cooking and testing food items in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Support Company’s philosophy and company culture
  • Responsible for all aspects of quality control, supervision and production for their area.
  • Act as a team player helping wherever needed.
  • Prepare foods as outlined in the Banquet Event Orders.
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation standards
  • Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
  • Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
  • Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
  • Clean, stock, and restock workstations.
  • Find ways to improve efficiency in the operation
  • Strive for perfection, 100% guest satisfaction
  • Assist outlet line with coverage when low volume in banquet
  • Assist with outlet food ordering
  • Other duties as assigned
