Job Description

QA / Data Engineer in the Hartford area (2 days a week on site) with the below qualifications.

In this role this person would be working within the Aetna Data Lakehouse on premise supporting both Production and new builds. They would be working with IT partners in the US, Canada, and India.

Essential Job Functions:

• Awareness of full software development life cycle practices and the ability to follow source code management, code quality and testing practices.
• Novice in analytical ability and strategic thinking.
• Ability to understand test data setup and understanding of data components.
• Collaborate within the team to support delivery.
• Build and execute test plans and test scripts.
• Ability to write simple to moderately complex SQL scripts.
• Work with senior level Cloud Engineers to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in an Agile Team and understanding of Agile principals.
• Demonstrates self-motivation, good judgment, and active listening skills.
• Strong communication (oral, technical, and written) skills.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Strong commitment and dedication to the position and a team player.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years work experience in Manual and Automated Testing
• Experience with CoPilot a plus
• Must have Insurance Exp. Ideally Healthcare and better yet Medicaid
• Data Warehousing in parallel processing environment knowledge.
• Candidate must have solid analytical.
• Technical Skills: * SQL * DB2 * GCP BQ Console* Java * Python
• Build and executes test plans and test scripts, composes simple and moderately complex SQL scripts, and develops basic automation tools to streamline cloud infrastructure management and deployment
• Contributes ideas, feedback, and contribution to overall goals and objectives of team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaboration projects.
• Assists team members with tasks, timelines, and deliverables by sharing information, collaborating, and ensuring effective communication.
• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering or other related field that provides similar skills.
• Demonstrates self-motivation, good judgment, and active listening skills.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, technical and written).
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Strong commitment and dedication to the position and a team player.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Knowledge of IBM DB2 and TIDAL is a plus.
• Agile Reporting Tools knowledge a plus but not required, specifically JIRA.
• Insurance background a plus but not required.
