Accentuate Staffing is partnering with a Xenotransplantation, Biotechnology Company who is hiring for a Research Associate to join their team. This is a contract opportunity with potential for hire, offering competitive pay, while working onsite. The ideal candidate has a bachelors degree combined with hands-on experience performing DNA Isolation, Western Blot and SDS-Page.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct and interpret SDS-PAGE Western blotting to evaluate transgene expression in cell and tissue samples.
2. Utilize an automated capillary western blot to assess transgene expression.
3. Maintain inventories of porcine tissue, plasma, and serum samples (both in freezers and digital databases).
4. Follow laboratory safety protocols and handle biohazardous materials, including human or animal cells and tissues.
5. Assist with general lab maintenance, including cleaning, autoclaving biohazardous waste, preparing buffers, and ordering supplies.
6. Provide research support for molecular biology activities, including DNA isolation, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), and protein isolation.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in science Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
2. 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
3. Demonstrated experience processing a large number of samples on a regular basis.
4. Experience performing DNA/protein quantification, Western blot, SDS-PAGE and ELISA.
5. Proficiency with laboratory instruments and data analysis software.
6. Experience with automated systems in a laboratory setting is a plus.
