Job Description

Position Purpose:

The successful candidate will become part of a skilled trade's team responsible for the campus-wide maintenance activities. This individual will be called upon to perform a variety of tasks associated with maintaining building plumbing, HVAC , and mechanical systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Journeyman's card or master plumber license from the State of Michigan and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with a variety of commercial, industrial and residential plumbing systems.
• Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other trades including electrical and mechanical installations as these may impact plumbing installations and repairs.
• Ability to interpret building schematics related to large building systems.
• Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various plumbing maintenance and repair tasks; frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds to move and use tools, equipment, and the application of plumbing procedures.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
• Successful verification of above requirements through reference checks.

• Backflow Preventer Certification
