TekCom Resources is seeking an
Underground Directional Drilling Foreman for a full-time, permanent-hire role with our client. The position could be based in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana or Kentucky. Ideal candidate will have a Driller, Operator and Locator that they could bring with him.
As an OSP Underground Construction Operator/Foreman, you will operate heavy equipment necessary for underground fiber installation - i.e. plowing, installing duct, pulling fiber and burying drops.
Candidates MUST have directional drilling experience to be considered for this role. This work is focused on construction in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana or Kentucky, will work in one location for 6-12 months and then move on to another location. You will also serve as the field lead for crews, ensuring work is performed safely and to company standards.
Your duties will include: • Making sure equipment operators and installation crew are following safe construction principles.
• Assist with location and verification of utilities prior to work.
• Help keep projects on schedule and ensure quality of underground installation work meets company standards.
• Participate in the maintenance of an organized warehouse and "yard."
• Communicate with customers on potential issues and pass that feedback along to Construction and Project Managers as needed.
• Participating in the training of incoming team members under your supervision.
• Assist with actual construction work -
this is a "working Foreman" role with hands-on duties. Our client would like to see this experience in your background: • At least 1-2 years of underground construction experience;
utilities construction experience unrelated to telecom, such as gas, power and water line installation, is relevant and welcome for this role!• Supervisory experience is not required but is highly valuable. • CDL licensure is VERY valuable for this role.
