A new era of luxury hospitality is coming to Napa. Opening this year, Lewis Cellars will build on its legacy, now with a reimagined estate and a world-class culinary program led by our MICHELIN-Starred Executive Chef. This is more than just a new tasting room—it's an opportunity to shape something extraordinary at a destination where handcrafted wines meet exceptional service.

Join our team at our newly designed tasting room! As a  Wine Educator , you will ensure each guest is warmly greeted and seated for their chosen tasting experience. You will pour and explain our wine and unique history in the region, serve and support in the dining room, and work closely with our chef team to create an amazing experience for all visitors. 

This full-time role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work evening shifts as needed. 

Job Description

  • Create engaging, educational, and memorable guest experiences
  • Assist in the achievement of financial goals including:
    • Tasting Room wine sales
    • Tasting Room food sales, executing an elevated food and wine experience
    • Wine Insider sign-up goals
  • Perform monitoring and stocking duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including:
    • Tasting Room – ensure all bar areas are free of unnecessary POS materials, flyers, etc.
    • Dining Area – keep the space clean, stocked, and ready for service
    • Patios – ensure common areas and office spaces are tidy and well-organized
    • Wine Storage – monitor inventory levels and notify a supervisor or manager of any shortages
  • Address guest concerns and complaints using good judgment and tact. Elevate complaints to management when necessary
  • At the end of shift/service, complete the following:
    • Process all guest checks
    • Allocate pooled gratuities to the Gratuity Report
    • Clean and reset the dining room
    • Complete all closing side work
  • Continuously educate yourself on new Lewis wine releases, as well as viticulture and winemaking technique
  • Attend all monthly and weekly Tasting Room meetings

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required
  • 2 years of retail sales experience preferred
  • Must possess a passion for wine and the wine industry
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
  • A thorough understanding of wine and food pairings, including origins, preparation/production methods, and the ability to explain why certain wines pair well with set food items
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 an hour, and will be included in the tip pool. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
