About the role

Operates the furnaces in a safe, efficient manner to produce liquid smoke to meet customer commitments, company objectives and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities

Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Assist the furnace operator with all aspects calciner operations.

Perform necessary tests to maintain optimum production & quality.

Record operational data.

Rod out furnace per schedule

Transfer product from tank farm as required.

Grease, oil, & lube furnaces, as required.

Perform scheduled sanitation duties.

Maintain neat, clean, and organized furnace and control room.

Complies with all corporate safety and environmental regulations and procedures.

Complies with all HACCP Food Safety procedures, GMP’S, and other guidelines.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Loads char.

Back up for dryer operator when necessary

Qualifications and skills

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

•  Ability kneel, bend, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work.

•  Ability to lift 50 pounds.

•  Ability to work overtime and use a flexible schedule.

The typical hiring range for this role is $18 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
