Job Description

Indian Creek School is looking to add to our pool of professional substitute teachers for early childhood, lower, middle and upper school.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a dynamic and developmentally appropriate curriculum and program
  • Work with the Division Principals to ensure a high quality education and the most engaging experience for students
  • Collaboratively plan and implement interdisciplinary units with other co-curricular teachers, classroom teachers, or grade level teams
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Maintain confidentiality with student information and records
  • Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community
  • Actively participate in a professional learning community, including professional literature, peer coaching, reflection meetings, planning meetings, data meetings, and staff meetings
  • Assist with all–school operations as needed (e.g. supervise lunch and recess)

Requirements:

  • Educational philosophy aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School
  • Minimum of 48 college credits or higher
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers to develop interdisciplinary units
  • Ability to work as part of a team to develop curriculum and assessments
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and with different learning styles
  • Proficiency in technology, including both iPads and Microsoft products
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Background Check (conducted by an agency designated by Indian Creek School)

Environment:

· Classroom environment with no secretarial/administrative support

· School environment including indoor and outdoor activities

· Exchange information in person, by computer, or on the telephone

· Sitting or standing for extended periods of time

· Some light lifting, carrying, bending
