40-70/h depending on years of experience

Top 3 technical  skills that are required for the role:

1. Manufacturing equipment design

2. SolidWorks proficiency

3. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Years’ Experience Required: 3-20

  • Established and productive machine designer. 
  • Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments 
  • Sets objectives for own job area to meet the objectives of projects and assignments 
  • Contributes to the completion of project milestones  
  • May have some involvement in cross functional assignments 
  • Makes or recommends enhancements in machines and processes to solve equipment problems or improve effectiveness of the machines 
  • Communicates primarily and frequently with internal contacts  
  • External interactions are less complex or problem solving in nature 
  • Contacts others to share information, status, needs and issues to inform, gain input, and support decision-making 
  • May provide guidance and assistance to entry level design engineers, validation engineers, and process engineers. 
  • Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within CAD, documentation, tolerancing, pneumatics, mechanisms, and powered actuators.   
Day in the Life: 
  • Design assembly and test equipment using CAD software (PTC Creo / SolidWorks)  
  • Define design requirements and conduct design reviews   
  • Prototype and test designs throughout the development process  
  • Support product design engineers with prototype builds  
  • Participate in manufacturing planning and analysis activities  
  • Partner with outside suppliers to develop production equipment  
  • Support qualification and manufacturing launch activities  
Must Have:  
  • BS Mechanical Engineering  
  • 3+ Years machine design experience  
  • 3+ Years CAD?software experience (PTC Creo / SolidWorks)  
  • Automation design experience
